NEWS: Binder Facilitates
First-Ever Corporate IP Roundtable
Nearly 50 business executives
from top companies including BellSouth, Georgia Pacific, Home Depot, and
Coca-Cola, joined Georgia State University faculty members to launch the
Corporate Intellectual Property (IP) Roundtable at a luncheon held at the
University. The Roundtable is designed as a forum for the exchange of ideas,
best practices, and information and networking opportunities exclusively for
corporate executives within the IP community.
"Today's Roundtable brought together Atlanta's best IP minds in the corporate world with leading academics in the field. The potential for collaborative research on complex issues such as asset valuation is boundless," said Roundtable co-founder Perry Binder. Binder, a GSU legal studies professor, opened the meeting with welcoming comments and led the group's brainstorming session. "This is only the beginning. There will be at least three or four similar sessions each year. We received great input on focused topics and speakers that we feel will add value to this network of select corporate IP stars."
Major corporations represented during the IP Roundtable included ADP, BellSouth, the CDC, Cingular, Cisco, The Coca-Cola Company, CompuCredit, Cox, Delta Airlines, EarthLink, Equifax, Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, General Electric, Georgia Pacific, Georgia Power, The Home Depot, InterContinental Hotels, Kimberly-Clark, Merial, Panasonic, Scientific Atlanta, Southern Company, Tandberg Television, Turner Broadcasting System , UPS, and The Weather Channel.
